A Visual History of The Southern Letterpress locations
When I moved to Alabama in 2006, I had no idea I would spend the next 17 + years acquiring and moving heavy metal 20th century printing equipment around the deep South. I have lived and build letterpress community in Gordo, Alabama; Columbus, Mississippi; Northport, Alabama; Birmingham, Alabama; and finally, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Gordo, Alabama: 2009-2011 I was invited (with my cat Luna) to move into an apartment in a printshop in Gordo, Alabama and work with Glenn House Sr., Kathy Fetters and Amos Paul Kennedy. I used their equipment and acquired and fixed my SP-15 while living there.
