We can print your design, or design and print for you. See below for more information about both options, including design specs if you want us to print your design.

We design and print for you

Let’s talk about what you like, and create a unique design for you. Set up a free consultation to look at samples and discuss paper type, ink color and impression. If you’d like, bring inspiration, such as samples of color, type and image that you like or want to use, or just come and chat.

  • the price of a letterpress job is based on the number of colors used, the size of the final print, the paper choice, and the number of copies.
  • to move forward, provide a ballpark number of prints needed, as well as the proofread and final text that will be printed. We will provide you with an estimate of cost, finalize paper and color choice, and ask for a 50% deposit to begin the design process.
  • Most designs take 5 business days. You will be sent a pdf for approval. Please check for accurate spelling and wording in the final design, as we do not provide proofreading (ironically, we are terrible spellers).
  • After the design is approved, it is another 2 to 3 weeks to print and deliver your print job. You will be given a firm delivery date based on the current schedule.
  • The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the final prints.

You design, we print

We love to help make your design into an edition of beautiful letterpress prints.

  • The easiest thing to do is email us a jpeg or screenshot of your design so that we can assess if it is a good match for letterpress printing. Include in this email any other information you have, such as quantity of prints, desired color, and paper type. If you don’t know, no worries, we can set up a free consultation to look at samples and discuss details.

Providing the best designs for printing:

  • We use Pantone color systems, and can match a CMYK or RBG color to a Pantone color.
  • All fonts work for letterpress, but ideal type size for letterpress is 9 pt or larger. Add kerning to type below 12 pt.
  • The best images for letterpress are black and white line art, in vector form. Not sure what this means? No worries, we are happy to help. We can advise on printing other types of images.
  • Your final art should be the same size as the final print.
  • Outline all fonts.
