Wassail & The kick-off of Holidays at The Southern
On Friday, December 2, The Southern had an Open Studio event for Wassail Fest in Downtown Columbus. Wassail Fest is an event on Main Street, when most of the store owners make wassail (no one knows exactly what wassail is), and the citizens of Columbus vote for the best wassail. I decorated the shop from the holidays, and offered warm ginger cider and ginger snaps. Yeah, I did think I could do this event all on my own: the decorating, cooking, printing and serving. But I couldn’t. Thanks to James Martin for stepping in and serving wassail all night.
And of course, there was printing. There were about 50 people who came in and printed their own gold ink holiday card (see below). The most people who have ever been in The Southern!
